Merry Christmas Everyone

Christmas movies are generally only watched by the majority of viewers for around two months of the year, though some like to start their Christmas viewing right after summer and others like to watch Christmas movies all year round. There are no rules here or feelings of shame to be had. Whatever works for you.

This doesn’t stop Christmas movies being big business though, with new Christmas movies being heavily hyped in the weeks before their release, and with the old favourites always making a comeback every year. Many television channels like to get in on the action too, not wanting to miss out on the hype of the holiday season, or for the chance to get the focus of families taking a break from work in December.

Strangely enough, Disney Channel have not been one of these channels, having only released five Christmas-themed DCOMs since 1997 when the first official DCOM came to be. It’s possible with the added bonus of Disney+ more of these types of movies might be able to be produced in the years to come, but only time will tell.
