During this time frame, Pixar made multiple sequels, or prequels, to their already successful franchises. Could this be Disney’s influence? That they could smell just how much money they could make from not only the sequel movie itself, but the potential synergy from new merchandise lines and theme park offerings? Perhaps. And who could blame them? It’s good business.
As much as many Pixar and Disney fans do not like sequel movies, in actual fact, the sequel movies from Pixar were not only financially successful, but also still captured the public’s attention, receiving some brilliant reviews – for the most part. Pixar’s star was continuing to rise with Disney’s support.
